About Gail Gross
As a child I spent hours creating and drawing the places I wanted to live in. The horse stalls were generally adjacent to my bedroom in the connected barn. As a young adult, I worked in and managed art galleries and I bought and sold antiques and collectibles. After earning an MS in Interior Design and working as a lighting consultant where I designed lighting plans and control systems, I opened Gail Gross Design and Interiors because I love the tactile experience of designing space for clients to live in, work in and relax in.
I stand out as a designer because I am curious, observant and a good listener. I have years of experience and education, including LEED. I get to incorporate my understanding of color from looking at paintings and nature and my knowledge of furniture and collectibles from buying and selling them. Rowing through Europe has given me the opportunity to observe regional design and decoration styles. I have the ability to create a dialogue between different cultures and settings having lived in cities, small coastal towns and rural countryside. And, because I value our environment, I strive to make sustainable choices in design materials and applications. I have also been fortunate to teach and advise thesis students, including serving as a guest juror where I get to engage students in ideas and thinking critically about design process. All this serves to keep me in a healthy state of learning.
