I worked with Gail Gross of Gail Gross Design and Interiors and benefited from her deep expertise in lighting, kitchen and bathroom design. It was a pleasure to work with her because she listens deeply, and can intuit the environment you want. She created a space that is beautiful and functional. Gail doesn’t sell you a point of view. Instead, she is curious about what you enjoy in your home and strives to discern your personal aesthetic. She incorporated my favorite objects and furniture, and advised me on artwork purchases. (She ran a gallery for many years before practicing interior design.) Small changes made a big difference in my two bedroom condominium. Her ideas provided both pathway and destination which made the space feel special for me and my guests. I got a lot of compliments! I am currently working with Gail designing my new house in mid-coast Maine. I can rely on her guidance to create a dynamic and interesting space. I am also looking forward to some new artwork and incorporating some furniture made by Maine artisans.

I hired Gail to update and refresh my rental unit. Even though I was working within a relatively tight budget, Gail approached the project with fresh and inspiring ideas and helped me make good decisions and find unexpected solutions. She paid close attention to my short- and long-range plans for the space, and came up with creative solutions for bridging those goals. She was respectful of both the long history I have with my building and the need to modernize it to reach a broader market. I now have an inviting contemporary space that honors the traditional materials and splendid details present in my 19th century home. I am confident that the unit will show well and wear well. We worked with Gail for over a year on a renovation of a Philadelphia row home which involved renovating two bathrooms, redoing the lighting throughout, converting a wood burning fireplace to gas with a new surround, updating the back patio (adding an outdoor kitchen), painting the whole interior and refinishing floors and replacing carpeting. She was terrific shepherding us through the numerous decisions, gently pushing us past our boring comfort zone. We are thrilled with the results!

Gail Gross has been an incredible in helping us develop a vision and now a plan for a more comfortable basement/family room space. We have many variables that had kept us from moving forward, and Gail has helped us navigate a plan. Our decor needs to accommodate a 4 year old, teenagers, and my parents when they visit. I hired Gail to help me with colors for my small cape in Portland. I had some favorite furnishings and rugs to work with but couldn't pull it all together myself. Gail came to the rescue with her wealth of experience and keen eye. she asked good questions to help her determine the direction to go in.
